Biennial has established its reputation as a representative of and a doorway to the best independent Chinese documentaries. One proof of that reputation is the great number of correspondences from all over the world expressing interest in working
with us. As we continue our work steadily and as more and more important institutions such as Karlsruhe Museum of Modern Art, Germany. Copenhagen International Documentary Festival, Denmark. Roman Film Festival, Italy. Discovery Channel Documentary
Festival, Frontline Club (London Journalists Club ), England. Peabody Essex Museum, Boston. New York Library, Yale University, Columbia University, Stanford University…… have started to incorporate our findings into their collections, we are
confident that our influence and significance will continue to grow.
All sponsors, individual and group (institutional and corporate), have three ways to support REEL CHINA:
1. Sponsor the REEL CHINA New Chinese Documentary Biennial. You can choose to sponsor either once or continuously every two years. Your name or brand will appear in all of our
publicity materials including posters, programs, publicity pamphlets, press conferences and our official website. Depending on the amount of your contribution, we will choose to present you in greater detail.
2. Sponsor the REEL CHINA Fund. This fund will be used to support independent documentary filmmaking in China in several ways: support the making of documentaries (including filming and editing) on topics and subjects of importance; support and
discover budding new filmmakers; support research and publications related to REEL CHINA；support the various relevant activities of REEL CHINA. Your name or brand will appear in the credits of the finished films, in publications and all relevant
activities as sponsor or producer. As time goes by, the irreplaceable value of successful documentaries will shine through as a permanent, precious record of history. You will be part of that value and honor. With the support of REC Foundation,
we have already published Reel China: A New Look at Contemporary Chinese Documentary (Shanghai: Wenhui Publishing House, February 2006).
3. REC Foundation will help you choose and decide which documentary projects you want to sponsor. You can also propose your expected share of the credits in both honorary and financial terms. The value of great documentaries is undeniable as time
goes by and is worthy of far-sighted investment.
4. Sponsor REEL CHINA’s various prizes for documentaries and documentary filmmakers. This takes place every two years along with the Biennial and all prizes involving donations will be notarized. REC Foundation will accept appropriate sponsors.
The names or brands of those selected sponsors will appear on the prize plates or certificates.
Sponsorship may be in the form of both checks and valuable art works. For donated art works, REC Foundation will help find collectors for them. Pictures and information of donated art
works will be listed permanently on our official website, and in the future we will consider publishing a memorandum containing all this information. REC Foundation will provide you with reports on the use and outcome of all the sponsorship.
