Born in Tianjin, China;
1978-1982 Earned a bachelor's degree in Chinese literature at Yunnan
University;
1984- Appointed to film director at Yunnan Television,
focusing mainly on documentary film;
1990 Began filming and producing independent films;
1995 Worked for one year at China Central Television;
2000-2001 Awarded with a grant from the US Asia Cultural Association to study
American film art in New York for 7 months (September,2000 - May,2001);
2001-2005 Work for Yunnan Television to make documentary films about rural areas
in Yunnan Province (current);
