Every day the blind woman Bao goes to the downtown area of Beijing to sing for a living. Her life is hard but not without dignity. Every morning, she wakes up and begins to worry about two things: one is that she needs to win a legal case in order to get back the money she lent to a friend; the other is to help her adopted daughter Mingming who suffers from mental problems to get back to normal. After having a car accident, Mingming doesn’t want to study any more. The mother tries to take the responsibility of a mother while the pubescent daughter gradually slips out of her control.
